45% of likely Florida voters approve of Governor Scott’s performance

In a Viewpoint Florida poll conducted last week, we found that 45% of likely 2012 general election voters in Florida approve of Governor Rick Scott’s recent job performance, while 51% of voters disapproved of his recent work.

Breaking along partisan lines, Governor Scott received strong support among Republicans — 72% approving of his job performance while Democrats registered just 21% approval.  Women, voters aged 18-34 and registered Democrats were the most likely groups to strongly disapprove of Scott’s administration, while those without party affiliation were split, 43% approving and 53% disapproving of the governor’s performance thus far.
Showing a stark increase in his job approval since the spring, Governor Scott’s job approval numbers in Florida now are similar to those of President Obama nationally.

The study was conducted on June 16th, 2011 among 1235 Florida registered voters likely to vote in the 2012 General Election. The margin of error is +/- 2.8%.
